Buyers Agreement

Sprezzatura Cane Corso Puppy Purchase Agreement

By purchasing a puppy from Sprezzatura Cane Corso, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to all terms and conditions outlined in this contract.

Health Guarantee & Initial Veterinary Examination

The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within  72 hours of receipt. Sprezzatura Cane Corso assumes no responsibility for any communicable disease diagnosed after 72 hours from the time of delivery.

 Parasite Disclaimer

All puppies from Sprezzatura Cane Corso are dewormed on a regular schedule appropriate for their age prior to leaving the breeder’s care. However, due to environmental factors beyond the breeder’s control, including the puppies being raised in a communal setting where they have access to each other's parasite load, the breeder cannot guarantee that the puppy or adult dog will remain free of intestinal worms or protozoa after transfer to the buyer.

Parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, coccidia, and giardia are common in young dogs and may reoccur despite proper preventative care. The buyer acknowledges this risk and agrees that Sprezzatura Cane Corso is not responsible for any parasite-related issues diagnosed after the dog has left the breeder’s premises.

Sprezzatura Cane Corso guarantees this puppy to be free from severe genetic abnormalities that significantly impair the dog’s quality of life for a period of 24 months from the date of birth. This guarantee does not cover breed-specific conditions that are common and do not affect overall health, including but not limited to:

  • Cherry eye
  • Dental irregularities
  • Entropion
  • Grade 1 or 2 heart murmurs
  • Other conditions typical of Molosser breeds

These conditions are considered cosmetic or non-life-threatening and are excluded from replacement eligibility.

Replacement Policy

If a qualifying genetic abnormality is diagnosed within the 24-month period, the buyer may be eligible for a replacement puppy from the next available litter. To qualify:

  • Diagnosis must be confirmed by two licensed veterinarians: one chosen by the buyer and one by Sprezzatura Cane Corso.
  • For cardiac and elbow issues, diagnosis must be certified by OFA.
  • For hip issues, diagnosis must be certified by PennHIP.
  • OFA certification will not be accepted for hip dysplasia.

No replacement will be provided for conditions that do not meet the criteria outlined above.

If approved for a puppy replacement, the replacement will be of the same gender as originally selected unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon with the breeder.

Replacement opportunities must be claimed within 18 months of approval. After this period, the offer expires and is no longer valid.

Please note that replacements are not offered based on color preferences. Because puppies are placed on a waiting list prior to birth, specific colors cannot be guaranteed.

If a replacement is offered and declined, the offer is considered forfeited and no further replacement will be provided.

Environmental Injuries & Owner Responsibilities

Sprezzatura Cane Corso does not replace puppies that suffer injuries or health issues due to owner negligence or environmental factors.

The buyer agrees to the following care standards to maintain the health guarantee:

  • Feed a non-raw diet with no more than:
    • 26% protein
    • 1.3% calcium
    • 1.0% phosphorus
  • Maintain receipts or order history of food purchases for verification.
  • Ensure the puppy maintains a healthy weight.
  • Provide safe and progressive physical activity, avoiding overexertion.
  • Prevent access to slippery floors and stairs until the puppy is at least 5–6 months old.
  • Limit stair activity even after 6 months due to slow growth plate fusion.
  • Avoid jogging or long-distance running until the dog is at least 2 years old, especially for larger pups.

Breeding Rights & Restrictions

For dogs sold with potential breeding rights, the following conditions must be met before breeding:

  1. The dog must be health tested for hips and elbows.
  2. The dog must be championed with the AKC by 24 months of age.
  3. The dog must carry the Sprezzatura name prefix on registration papers.
  4. The dog must be co-owned with Sprezzatura Cane Corso until all requirements are fulfilled.

Once these conditions are met and verified, full ownership will be transferred, and breeding may proceed without further obligations.

Important Breeding Restrictions:

  • Breeding prior to fulfilling these requirements voids the contract and health guarantee.
  • Buyer agrees to surrender the dog to Sprezzatura Cane Corso at their own expense, with no compensation.
  • Crossbreeding with any other breed is strictly prohibited.
  • If a dog from Sprezzatura Cane Corso is used in crossbreeding, the buyer agrees to surrender the dog with no compensation.

Non-Breeding Rights

All dogs purchased without breeding rights will be registered with limited registration.

Due to health concerns associated with neutering, male puppies are not required to be neutered. However, female puppies must be spayed by 14 months of age. Failure to comply may result in confiscation of the dog at the buyer’s expense, with no compensation provided.

No dog from Sprezzatura Cane Corso may be bred without obtaining full breeding rights. If a Sprezzatura Cane Corso is bred without such rights, Sprezzatura Cane Corso reserves the right to reclaim the dog at any time, with no compensation to the buyer.

In the event legal action is necessary, all court proceedings shall be filed and maintained in the breeder’s state of residence. If the buyer is found liable, they agree to reimburse the breeder for all court-related fees and expenses.

Deposits

A deposit constitutes a binding promise to purchase a puppy. If the buyer changes their mind for any reason, the deposit is forfeited.

Sprezzatura Cane Corso does not guarantee specific colors or genders in any litter. If a planned litter does not occur or does not produce the expected number of puppies, the deposit will be transferred to another litter of the buyer’s choosing.

The deposit will hold the puppy until it is weaned and ready for pick-up. Puppies must be picked up by 8 weeks of age, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. A boarding fee of $25 per day will be charged for each day the puppy remains beyond 8 weeks, unless an alternative arrangement is made in writing between the buyer and breeder.

Return Policy

Sprezzatura Cane Corso accepts approved returns of puppies or adult dogs under specific conditions outlined in this contract. Returns are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be pre-approved in writing by the breeder.

If a buyer wishes to return a puppy or adult dog, the following conditions must be met:

  • The dog must be returned in good health, with proof of veterinary clearance.
  • The dog must not exhibit aggressive behavior, as aggression poses a high safety risk to the breeder and staff. Aggression resulting from improper training, poor socialization, or environmental neglect will disqualify the dog from being accepted for return.
  • All registration papers must be signed back over to Sprezzatura Cane Corso.
  • The buyer is responsible for all transportation and associated costs related to the return.
  • A written agreement must be signed by both parties prior to the return.

Refunds will not be issued. If compensation is warranted, it will be provided in the form of a replacement puppy, and only when permitted by the terms of this contract.

Sprezzatura Cane Corso reserves the right to refuse any return that does not meet these conditions. This policy is designed to protect the health and well-being of our dogs and uphold the integrity of our breeding program.

Conflict Resolution

Sprezzatura Cane Corso does not issue refunds for any payments made. If compensation is warranted under the terms of this contract, it will be provided in the form of a replacement puppy, not monetary reimbursement.

The buyer agrees to resolve any disputes or disagreements privately and through the appropriate legal channels. The buyer further agrees not to post or share grievances related to Sprezzatura Cane Corso on social media or public platforms.

This clause is intended to protect the breeder’s reputation from defamatory or misleading public commentary. The breeder believes the court system provides a fair and balanced forum for resolving disputes, and that such matters should not be handled in the court of public opinion.
